"Student-Athletes are expected to take initiative to lead their peers with little guidance.

Scoreboard is here to help our young leaders embrace their roles"

“True leadership is not about being in charge, but about empowering others to thrive alongside you.”

Empowering student-athletes with the tools of ScoreBoard transforms them into dynamic leaders, propelling them beyond their limits to reach new heights of achievement.”

Meet Our Founder: Wendell Dunn

Wendell Dunn has made it his mission to share his story with the intentions of striking the hearts of many.

He currently serves  as the Assistant Director of Leadership and Character for the Wake Forest Athletics. In this role he is responsible for providing leadership experiences to the athletic teams through workshops, retreats, discussion groups, and projects.

Wendell is originally from Miami, Florida, but attended Wake Forest University as a student-athlete. At Wake, he majored in Communication with a minor in Schools, Education, and Society. He then pursued and received a graduate degree from Wake in the Masters of Educational Studies program in hopes of using his newfound knowledge to someday start his leadership in sports program.

Wendell was celebrated as a two-time captain and four-year starter of the Wake Forest football team from the years 2014-2017. He played an integral role in changing the culture and direction of the program. For two years, Dell also teamed up with Wake Forest education professor Alan Brown to lead an after-school sports literacy program for students at Paisley IB Magnet School and Northwest Middle School in Winston-Salem, leaving behind a legacy that extends far beyond Truist Field.

Dell's involvement in the community, including his middle school literacy program, was featured as an ESPN story in 2017 titled  “Far From Dunn: The Wendell Dunn Story”.

Wendell was the first in his mom's family to receive a college degree and the first in his entire family to receive a master's degree. Dell believes that none of his life accomplishments would have happened without trusting  the leadership and collaboration of those around him. He believes his story relates to all and wants everyone  to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. With proper guidance and mentorship, any student from any situation can have a successful future.
